Ambassador LIU Zhenmin Presents Credentials

On February 28 2012, Ambassador LIU Zhenmin, the newly appointed Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and Other International Organizations in Switzerland, presented his credentials to Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Ambassador LIU said China advocates multilateralism and upholds the central and authoritative role of the United Nations (UN) in international affairs. China has taken an active part in the UN work across the board and made its due contribution in maintaining world peace and promoting common development. Geneva is an important center for multilateral diplomacy and China attaches great importance to the role of UNOG. China will continue to support the efforts of UNOG and work together with UN and international community to build a harmonious world of lasting peace and common prosperity.

Director-General Tokayev welcomed Ambassador LIU to assume his new post in Geneva and expressed appreciations of China's long-term support to the UN. He highlighted the great efforts and substantive contribution of China in promoting the noble cause of world peace and development. He hoped China would continue to play an important role in international affairs.
