On May 3, 2012, Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping met with Kazakhstan's new Ambassador to China Nurlan Ermekbayev. Cheng congratulated Ermekbayev on his assumption of the new post in China. Both sides also exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern.
