On December 27, 2011, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun and the First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the ROK Park Suk-hwan held the fourth high-level strategic dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries in Seoul.

The two sides exchanged in-depth opinions on the bilateral relations and other regional and international issues of common concern. They agree to take the opportunity of the 20th anniversary of the China-ROK diplomatic ties to deepen the bilateral pragmatic cooperation in all fields and push the bilateral relations for new achievements. They believe that relevant departments make joint efforts to maintain peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.

On the same day, Zhang also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Kim Sung-hwan and Unification Minister Yu Woo-ik. Zhang Xinsen, Chinese ambassador to the ROK was present at the meetings.
This is a regular dialogue already agreed upon by both sides. China and the ROK set up the high-level strategic dialogue mechanism between their foreign ministries in 2008. In principle, the dialogue takes place once every year in rotation between the two countries. The fourth dialogue is held in the ROK this year.
