On October 11, 2011, Vice Foreign Minister Song Tao attended the reception held by the Nigerian Embassy in China to celebrate the 51st anniversary of Nigeria's independence and held cordial and friendly talks with the Nigerian ambassador Wali about China-Nigeria and China-Africa relations.
