Dai Bingguo Meets with the Middle School Students' Delegation of Fukushima City, Japan
2011/10/09

On October 9, 2011, State Councilor Dai Bingguo met in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse with the middle school students' delegation of Fukushima City, Japan.

Dai said that the massive earthquake on March 11 caused unprecedented disaster in Northeast Japan, including Fukushima City. The Chinese people feel deep sympathy and sorrow for the Japanese people, and China has actively provided Japan with assistance. Meanwhile, we will never forget the valuable support of the Japanese government and people for the Chinese people after the outbreak of the heavy earthquake in Wenchuan of Sichuan, China three years ago.

He said that China and Japan, as important neighbor of each other, must follow the path of peace, friendship and cooperation. The two peoples are in the same boat and must pass the friendship from generation to generation and be good neighbors and partners forever. He hopes that the Japanese students understand China better after the visit, bring the friendship of the Chinese people with the Japanese people back to Japan and serve as the ambassador and bridge of China-Japan friendship.

Takanori Seto, head of the delegation and Fukushima City Mayor, sincerely thanked the Chinese side for its support for Japan's disaster relief. He expects the young generation of Japan are committed to the bilateral friendship and cooperation.
