On March 25, 2011, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun and Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Denisov held the first round of consultations on foreign policy and the international situation between the two Foreign Ministries in Moscow.
Zhang said China-Russia strategic cooperative partnership has always maintained a sound growth momentum since its establishment 15 years ago, which plays an important role in safeguarding sovereignty, security and development interests of the two countries, building a multipolar world and maintaining regional and world peace, security and stability. Currently the international situation is undergoing profound and complex changes. The two countries should take the opportunity of the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Sino-Russian Good-neighborly Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation to actively implement the consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries on comprehensively deepening strategic cooperative partnership. Zhang also urged both sides to expand cooperation in all areas, further enhance strategic cooperation and push bilateral ties to achieve new outcomes.
