Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun met in the Foreign Ministry with Ethiopia's new Ambassador to China Seyoum on January 5, 2011. Zhai made positive comments on China-Ethiopia relations as well as the contributions Seyoum has made to bilateral ties during his term as Ethiopia's foreign minister. Zhai said China is ready to work with Ethiopia to push China-Ethiopia, China-Africa relations to new levels.

Seyoum said he was greatly honored to assume such an important post as Ethiopian ambassador to China, noting that the Ethiopian government attaches importance to developing ties with China. He said he was ready to work with the Chinese side to continue making contributions to bilateral collaboration and China-Africa pragmatic cooperation in all areas during his term of office.
