From December 20 to 21, 2010, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun visited Oman. Zhai and Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman Sayyid Badr Bin Hamad Bin Hamoud Al-Busaidi held the fifth round of strategic consultations between the two Foreign Ministries.

Zhai said that in recent years, China-Oman relations have maintained a momentum of rapid and steady development with firm political trust, fruitful pragmatic cooperation, close humanities exchanges and increasing mutual understanding between both peoples. China is ready to further expand personnel exchanges with Oman, broaden cooperation areas and push forward bilateral ties. Badr said to develop ties with China is an important decision of Sultan Qaboos and a consensus shared by the Omani people from all walks of life. The Omani side is ready to push China-Oman friendly cooperative relations to a new level through strategic consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries and other mechanisms.
