Wen Jiabao Arrives in Ankara for Official Visit

At about 10 p.m., 7 October local time, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived in Ankara by special plane for a three-day official visit to Turkey.

Senior officials from the Turkish government, as well as Chinese Ambassador to Turkey Gong Xiaosheng and other officials greeted Wen at the airport.

Wen arrived here after concluding his official visit to Italy. Upon Premier Wen leaving the Italian capital of Rome, the senior officials from the Italian government, Chinese Ambassador to Italy Ding Wei and other officials saw him off at the airport.

Turkey is the last leg of Wen's four-nation tour, which has taken him to Greece, Belgium and Italy. The Chinese premier also attended the 8th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) and the 13th China-European Union (EU) summit in Brussels.
