Wen Jiabao Meets with Belgium's King Albert II

On October 6, 2010, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met with Belgium's King Albert II in Brussels.

Wen conveyed to King Albert II the regards and best wishes from Chinese President Hu Jintao. Wen said he appreciated the long-term efforts the Belgian royal family have made to promote the China-Belgium friendship, communications and cooperation in all areas. Wen said that currently China-Belgium relations have maintained a sound momentum of development. With their joint efforts, both sides have overcome the impact of the global financial crisis, achieved rapid trade growth and further enhanced exchanges and cooperation in all areas, pushing bilateral ties to a new level.

For his part, Albert II asked Wen to convey his regards and best wishes to Hu. He highly valued the great achievements China has obtained in economic and social development as well as the positive and constructive role China plays in international affairs. Albert said he hoped the two countries will enhance high-level exchanges and broaden their communications and cooperation in economy and trade, science and technology, culture, and education for the benefit of both peoples.
