Wen said that it is not easy for overseas Chinese to establish themselves, to survive or to develop in the local society. They have to overcome homesickness. They should strive unceasingly and work hard to integrate into the local society and seek greater development. He extended welcome to them to return to the motherland frequently.
He hopes the Chinese media in the US shoulder the major responsibility of reporting China, promoting China-US relations, advancing China's great undertaking of national reunification, spreading the Chinese culture and educating the young, stay realistic and pragmatic, develop unique and vivid features and build a larger base of readers and audiences.
The chief executives of Chinese media noted that China which has successfully coped with the serious natural disasters and the international financial crisis has made important contributions to the recovery of world economy and become a key engine for the world economy. China is playing a critical role in the international affairs and has grown into a responsible big power. Overseas Chinese people are proud of the achievements of their motherland. The Chinese media abroad are willing to play a role in strengthening the bilateral relations, the mutual understanding between the two countries and the friendship between their people.
