Special Representative of the Chinese Government on the Korean Peninsular Affairs Visits Russia

On September 6, 2010, Special Representative Wu Dawei of the Chinese Government on the Korean Peninsular Affairs met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow. Both sides exchanged views on the situation of the Korean Peninsula and the issue of restarting the six-party talks.

Both sides agreed to remain committed to safeguarding peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia. They also believed that it is in the interests of all parties concerned to comprehensively implement the Sept. 19, 2005 joint statement. Both sides agreed to intensify communication and coordination with all parties concerned, in preparations for the resumption of the six-party talks.
