Tang Jiaxuan Meets with Heads of Seven Japan-China Friendship Groups

On March 12, 2010, the chief Chinese member of the 21st Century Committee for China-Japan Friendship Tang Jiaxuan, also an honorary advisor to the China-Japan Friendship Association, met with heads of the seven Japan-China friendship groups in Tokyo. Tang also addressed a welcome reception hosted by the seven Japan-China friendship groups.

Tang said that over the years the seven Japan-China friendship groups have adhered to China-Japan friendship and made indelible contribution to the recovery, improvement and development of bilateral ties. Under the new situation, the friendship groups of the two countries should work towards the general goal of China-Japan friendship for generations, actively develop innovative forms of exchanges, enrich connotation of exchanges and do more practical things for building political trust and improving people’s sentiments towards each other.

The heads of the seven Japan-China friendship groups pledged to make new contributions to enhancing Japan-China friendship and pushing forward pragmatic cooperation.

On the same day, Tang Jiaxuan also attended a commemoration for the 100th anniversary of the birth of late Japanese Prime Minister Masayoshi Ohira and met with friendly personages from both China and Japan.
