Special Envoy of the Chinese Government & Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun Attends the 14th African Union (AU) Summit

From January 27 to February 1, 2010, special envoy of the Chinese government Zhai Jun, also Vice Foreign Minister, at invitation attended the 16th session of the African Union (AU) Executive Council and the 14th African Union (AU) summit in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.

During his stay, Zhai attended the opening ceremony of the AU summit and other events, and met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles, AU Commission Chairman Jean Ping, foreign ministers of more than ten African countries, AU-UN Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) Joint Special Representative (JSR) Ibrahim Gambari as well as heads of delegations from Britain, the United States and other countries.
