On August 20, 2009, China's Special Envoy to the Middle East Wu Sike met in Beijing with Tony Blair, Quartet's Special Envoy to the Middle East. This is Wu's first meeting with Blair since the former took office as special envoy in March. Both sides exchanged views on the Middle East issue, as well as keeping closer contacts between the special envoys of the parties concerned to the Middle East.
