State Councilor Yang Jiechi Meets with Mexican Foreign Minister José Antonio Meade Kuribreña

On May 20, 2013, State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with José Antonio Meade Kuribreña, the visiting Foreign Minister of Mexico, in Beijing.

Yang Jiechi said that China and Mexico are both major emerging markets and large developing countries. The two countries have witnessed rapid development in their relations and achieved fruitful results in mutually beneficial cooperation in recent years. China attaches great importance to developing its relations with Mexico, and wishes to work with Mexico to strengthen high-level exchanges and to continuously expand new areas for cooperation so as to uplift China-Mexico strategic partnership to a new level.

Meade said that the new Mexican government highly values developing its relations with China and is wiling to work with China to promote the comprehensive and in-depth development of the bilateral relations.
