Wang Yi: Comprehensively Implement Outcomes of President Xi Jinping's Visit to Iran and Promote China-Iran Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

On December 5, 2016, when jointly meeting the press in Beijing with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif of Iran after holding the first meeting of the annual meeting mechanism between Chinese and Iranian Foreign Ministers, Foreign Minister Wang Yi pointed out that President Xi Jinping's state visit to Iran this January is of milestone significance to bilateral relations. Leaders of both countries have made strategic plans for the future development of China-Iran relations. The two Foreign Ministries will comprehensively implement outcomes of the visit with respective related departments, so as to push bilateral cooperation in various fields for positive progress. Both countries share a good foundation and great potential in cooperation in such areas as economy, trade, energy and infrastructure. Both sides will give full play to complementary advantages within the framework of the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative and further expand practical cooperation on the basis of connectivity and production capacity cooperation.
