Q: On July 22 Beijing time, the UN Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2166 on the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in eastern Ukraine. How does China comment on this?

A: On the morning of July 22 Beijing time, the UN Security Council passed Resolution 2166 on the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in eastern Ukraine. China voted in favor of the resolution.

The Chinese side is deeply saddened by the crash of the Malaysian passenger flight, and once again expresses its sympathies and condolences to the victims and their families. China supports an independent, fair and objective investigation into this incident, in which the International Civil Aviation Organization should give full play to its key role.

The Security Council's unanimous passage of Resolution 2166 will help relevant parties to boost mutual trust, enhance cooperation and make advances in international investigation. The Chinese side believes that the resolution can be fully implemented, and once again calls on parties concerned to coordinate and cooperate with international investigation so as to establish the truth as soon as possible.
