Ambassador Liu Zhenmin Visited the Headquarter of the IUCN


On July 18, 2012, Ambassador Liu Zhenmin, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland, visited the headquarter of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Director-General Julia Marton-Lefevre and Deputy Director-General Poul Engberg-Pedersen accompanied Ambassador Liu during his visit and introduced the general information of the IUCN. They expressed the willing to further deepen the cooperation with China. Ambassador Liu said that China attaches importance to the work of the IUCN, and will strengthen the cooperation with the IUCN, to promote the cause of global nature conservation and sustainable development. Ambassador Liu and Madam Marton-Lefevre also exchanged views on the 2012 World Conservation Congress.
