On 3 March 2010, Ambassador He Yafei, the newly appointed Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland, presented his credentials to Mr. Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Ambassador He said China always advocates multilateralism and attaches great importance to the role played by the United Nations. China firmly supports the efforts of the UN in maintaining international peace and security, promoting development and protecting human rights. China will continue to take an active part in the activities of UN and work with the international community to construct a harmonious world of lasting peace and common prosperity.

Director-General Sergei Ordzhonikidze welcomed Ambassador He to assume his new post in Geneva. He expressed appreciations of China's long-term support to the UN as well as the friendly cooperation between UN and China. He hoped China would continue to play an important role in international affairs.
