On November 25, 2009, a photo exhibition entitled "The Charm of Macao", co-sponsored by the Chinese Mission and the UN Office at Geneva, was launched at Palais des Nations.

Permanent Representative of China, Ambassador LI Baodong delivered opening remarks. Ambassador LI said, this year marked the 10th anniversary of Macao's reunification with China and the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region. During the past 10 years, the Chinese Government had been following the policies of "one country, two systems" and "Macao administrated by the people of Macao". The region enjoyed a high degree of autonomy, its unique culture and way of life kept intact and in full flourish. The Photo Exhibition recorded Macao's continuing prosperity and stability since its reunification with China on December 20, 1999.

Macao's Permanent Representative to the WTO, Mr. Luo Liwen said in his remarks that Macao's reunification with China opened a new chapter for Macao. From the photos, spectators could find a charming Macao. Mr. Pierre Le Loarer, Chairman of the Cultural Activities Committee of the UN office also delivered a speech.

The exhibition was scheduled to be shown for three weeks in the Palais des Nations.
