Ambassador MA Zhaoxu Delivers Congratulatory Message At the International Meteorological Organization Prize Presentation Ceremony

On 16 May, Ambassador Ma Zhaoxu attended the Presentation Ceremony of the 61st International Meteorological Organization (IMO) Prize which was conferred upon Chinese Academician Zeng Qingcun.

In his congratulatory message, Ambassador Ma highly praised Professor Zeng's outstanding achievements in meteorology. He reaffirmed the desire to strengthen the cooperation between China and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) to promote the common development and progress of the meteorological cause.

Mr. David Grimes, President of WMO and Mr. Petteri Taalas, Secretary-General of WMO presented the Prize to Professor Zeng, commended his positive contribution to the global meteorological cause, and expressed the strong will to enhance exchange and cooperation with China on meteorology.

IMO Prize is the highest award of WMO and is presented annually to only one person for his/her remarkable contributions in the fields of meteorology, hydrology and geophysics.
