Students of the Foreign Service Programme of Oxford University Visited the Permanent Mission of China

On 21 March, a group of students of the Foreign Service Programme of Oxford University visited the Permanent Mission of China as part of their European Study Tour 2017.

Several young diplomats in the Chinese Mission briefed the students on their respective fields of work, the outcomes of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s attendance at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos and his visit to the UN Office at Geneva, and China’s Belt and Road Initiative. The students listened attentively and the presentations were well received.

At the end of the event, Ms. Kate Jones, Director of the Foreign Service Programme, said it was a great honor to visit the Chinese Mission. She expressed deep appreciation for the hospitality and excellent preparation of the Mission. The students agreed that the presentations were very informative about China’s diplomacy, its latest policies and concepts, and China’s role in the UN. They found the visit a valuable experience and a highlight of the study tour.
