Chinese Mission Holds Reception to Celebrate the 67th Anniversary of the Founding the People's Republic of China and the 45th Anniversary of the Restoration of the Lawful Seat of China in the UN

On September 28th, Ambassador MA Zhaoxu together with Chinese Ambassador to WTO Mr. YU Jianhua and Ambassador for Disarmament Affairs Mr. FU Cong, held a grand reception to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the founding the People's Republic of China and the 45th anniversary of the restoration of the lawful seat of China in the UN.

More than 500 distinguished guests including heads of UN agencies and international organizations such as the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva Michael Møller, the Director-General of World Intellectual Property Organization Francis Gurry, the Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab and the Secretary-General of World Meteorological Organization Petteri Taalas and ambassadors of Russia, USA, UK, France, Germany, India, Brazil, Switzerland and other over 100 countries attended the reception.

In his speech delivered at the reception, Ambassador MA introduced the remarkable progress China have achieved in the past 67 years and have made great contributions to the world. China has always been a builder and defender of world peace, a contributor to the global development and upholder of the international order. Among the P5, China is the largest troop-contributing country to UN peace keeping missions worldwide. China takes the lead in realizing the UN Millennium Development Goals. China have ratified and released the National Plan for the Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. China have signed and ratified the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. President Xi Jinping announced at the UN General Assembly to establish a China-UN peace and development fund last year. These measures demonstrate our determination to advance international cooperation and address global challenges together with the international community.

Ambassador MA maintained the G20 Hangzhou Summit symbolizes a new start for world economy and for China's interactions with the world. The "Belt and Road Initiative" proposed by President Xi Jinping is intended to share China's development opportunities with other countries and to achieve common prosperity. China is firmly committed to peaceful development. China will work together with other countries to build a new type of international relations featuring win-win cooperation, create a community of shared future for mankind, dedicate China's wisdom to global governance and make new contributions to world peace and development.

The guests presented their high appreciation of China's achievements and its active and constructive role in the international affairs.
