Cuba on Behalf of 64 Counties Calls for an End to Unfounded Allegations Against China out of Political Motivations

Cuba, on behalf of 64 countries, delivered a joint statement at the 46th session of the Human Rights Council.

Countries that co-signed the joint statement reiterate that all sides should promote and protect human rights through constructive dialogue and cooperation and firmly oppose politicization of human rights and double standards. They commend the people-centered philosophy that the Chinese government pursues and achievements that have been made in China's human rights cause. They reiterate that Xinjiang is an inseparable part of China, and urge the relevant sides to abide by the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, stop interfering in China's internal affairs by manipulating Xinjiang related issues, and refrain from making unfounded allegations against China out of political motivations and curbing the development of developing countries under the pretext of human rights.

On 5 March, Belarus, on behalf of 71 countries, delivered a joint statement at the Human Rights Council, supporting China's justified position and measures on Hong Kong related issues.  Other countries expressed their firm support to China on Xinjiang and Hong Kong in their national statements.
