Spokesperson Zhang Qiyue on the Talks of China, the DPRK and the United States (26/05/2003)
2004/04/16
Q: According to a Japanese report, China has agreed to extend the participants of the Beijing talks on the DPRK nuclear issue from three parties to a six-nation framework. Could you please confirm it?

A: The Beijing talks of China, the DPRK and the U.S.A., held in late April, are a good start to resolve the DPRK nuclear issue through dialogue. All parties have expressed the willingness to continue the talks. China's basic stance is that, under the current circumstances, priority should be given to push ahead the Beijing talks of China, the DPRK and U.S.A.
